Tripolar Concentric Ring Electrode (TCRE) Sensor

Manufacturer:U.S CRE/Brand:CRE/Model: t-interface 20
  • The TCRE sensor has a revolutionary electrode design. Each TCRE sensor contains 3 electrodes: outer ring, middle ring, and center disc.
  • The TCRE sensor performs the Laplacian automatically and takes bipolar differences of the surface potentials from its closely spaced electrodes, which improves common mode rejection.
  • The outer ring of the TCRE sensor has the same size as a conventional disc electrode and emulates disc electrode biopotentials.
  • Each TCRE provides 2 output signals: ①a high fidelity, differential Laplacian signal by combining the differences between (outer ring - center disc) and (middle ring - the center disc);②a conventional EEG signal from the outer ring.
  • Besides EEG, the TCRE sensor can also be used to acquire electrocardiography (ECG), electromyography (EMG), and other biopotentials.
  • The TCRE works in conjunction with the t-Interface 20.

Advantages of tEEG Compared to Conventional EEG

  • 375% improved signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and superior artifact rejection.
  • 10 times higher spatial resolution.
  • Only 8% mutual (overlapping) information, higher information content.
  • 1/10 time to collect event related potentials (ERPs).
  • Detect high frequency activity.
